Still filling out your content calendars for 2022?

One of the most prominent challenges organizations face in content marketing is content creation – and even more specifically, coming up with ideas for content creation. Research tells us that a smaller company can get away with one to two blog posts a week for brand awareness. And if you want to rank in search engines, you’ll need to post at least three times a week. That’s a lot of topics to generate.

If you’re a small company or a small content marketing team, you’re probably stuck more often than not. But there are many great ways to generate content marketing topics and ideas for your next series of blog posts from both inside and outside your company.

Content Marketing Ideas

Internal Content Marketing Topic Ideas

Are you friends with your sales team? If not, go invite them to lunch and start mining them for information! The emails they get from prospects, plus what they hear on sales calls, are gold mines of ideas.

The same goes for your support team. Anyone who interacts with your customers knows what their challenges are, and your content marketing efforts can help keep existing customers and recruit new ones.

Finding Ideas Outside the Company

You may not want to copy your competition, but you can certainly see what they’re doing and use it to shape your efforts. Suppose they’re doing a series of video demos of their product. Why not do a series of videos teaching your customers about getting the most out of yours?

Keyword research and industry news are great ways to develop content marketing ideas, too. Not only will you be ranking in search engines, but you’ll also be creating blog posts, articles, or other collateral that can answer your prospects’ questions.
